“At present, we do not offer accommodation facilities, but that is our next addition to our already exciting offering so as to ensure that we provide a full and balanced package within our premises,” reassures Du Plessis. “Yet, for those who prefer to awaken the senses,” she continues, “the Gallery is the ideal place to spend some time enjoying the eye-catching and smartly created pieces of art that display a balance of creativity and precision, which are Stone Cradle’s values.” Relaxed by the Nguni Bar; with feet up and a drink at hand, one is able to cast one’s eye as far as Pretoria – with no distractions to the view in between, rain or shine!

“The views from Stone Cradle are excellent, but there is more to our offering than a scenic view,” Du Plessis cheerfully states. Weddings, conferences and planning sessions are some of the events that take place here on an ongoing basis, with the venue being serviced by a staff complement of almost 70 adaptable and upbeat individuals. Staff members receive continual training to ensure that they are always alert and able to meet the needs of our customers, they are always reminded that building and nurturing good relations with guests at Stone Cradle are what will keep the establishment prosperous. “To ensure that we also cater for the active customer, we are in the process of adding cooking sessions for the hands-on person, with our newly acquired executive chef Shane Smit. We are also planning to add comedy nights, food festivals, wine pairings and many more events,” Du Plessis promises.

Inside the facility, the furniture and fittings are equally inspiring, and final touches are not taken for granted. Mostly, African patterns have been used to create a smooth, undemanding and welcoming setting that makes Stone Cradle the perfect venue for weddings, office parties, conferences, product launches, birthday celebrations or any other special occasion. Du Plessis, who has been in the hospitality industry since childhood, grew up on a game farm. It is this background, as well as her energetic personality, creative vision and excellent management skills that have secured her position as General Manager at Stone Cradle.
