are such that from just one piece of jewellery, the next person can tell more about its owner because my spirituality allows me to tell a story. Essentially, my creations are stories that tell the different life stories of my clients,” she says. Linking her spirituality and innate passion for people, Berdien shares, makes it easier for her to tailor-make each individual piece and it is no wonder that her clientele include top executives from all sectors of business. “I can say that those pieces have become treasured ‘items of clothing’ for the owners. They have said that they cannot afford to go out without them!”

With so many years in the business space, Berdien has found that there is nothing that breeds success in business as much as respect for the next person does. She reveals that, for her, this has resulted in her maintaining relationships that are as old as 30 years with such business people as Carl and Annelize Wepener, respectively a director and chief executive of CEO Holdings. In addition to this, sound relationships mean that you are contributing to the worth of the next person in a manner that makes them want nothing but to keep you as a sounding board in all aspects of [their] life. “I should stress that people do not just pass through one’s life and as such, I have been very fortunate to be able to know people like Carl and Annelize,” she confides.

Because she has had a solid foundation in the health industry, Berdien recently decided to explore this further by getting actively involved in employee health and wellbeing which have always had a special place in her heart. Says Berdien: “These two are the most important tools which can be used to ensure optimum production and creativity with the added benefit of a happy, healthy workforce with a high morale. They learn to stay and feel healthy and are appreciative towards their employer for the support offered.” To this end, she is helping organisations create workplaces that are great places to work in by means of her employee wellness programme. The aim is to build teams that are made up of members that are one unit, but where every employee is aware of the value their colleagues bring to the organisation.

Not one to mince her words, she advises that any individual that’s climbing the executive ladder should always strive for integrity, honesty and being oneself all the time as these are all vital ingredients for success. “Work hard but keep the balance and stay focused by planning every step. Every small step matters if it is a step in the right direction. I would advise one to strive to add and improve by at least 1% each day and in a week, a month or in a year’s time you will realise incredible results or change for the better. Further to this, set goals; don’t leave things to the last moment and make sure that you find the positive in every situation and learn from it for, indeed, there is a lesson in all experiences,” she concludes.

“You can do anything if you have the enthusiasm for with enthusiasm there is accomplishment.” Berdien Petrov

Crafting Unique jewellery, Creating Great Workplaces

After spending more than a decade in the health and beauty space as an executive, she decided to focus her attention on her family as she believes the formative years of any young person are the most important that require all the love that a young one can get. Little did she know that focusing her attention on her family was going to open up avenues that made her discover her creative juices in all things jewellery and design. Berdien Petrov strives to create phenomenal pieces of jewellery, is a wellness coach and a business woman that has proved her mettle in the South African business circles and beyond.

According to Berdien, her lovely pieces of jewellery are creations inspired by her own spirituality which makes each piece tell a unique story that is equally inimitable to an individual. “My designs
