So, What’s Your Leadership Style?
Readers, listen-up! Leadership is a subtle skill that is devilishly difficult. It is intangible and difficult to measure. Leadership has a quality that stems from a number factors: the ability to provide a clear vision, the ability to control and direct, self-confidence, expert knowledge, and a sense of responsibility, to name a few. There is no one style of leadership. Organisations are made up of people. It is rare that what one person requires to be led properly is what another person in the same organization requires. Some employees are the proverbial self-starters, needing little day to day, hour to hour guidance. Others require constant monitoring. Each may be excellent employees but in need different styles of leadership. Those in leadership positions also have a responsibility to provide leadership to their customers, vendors and board of directors; I will address those leadership responsibilities in a future writing.

Stories Stories Everywhere
The sign outside the horse read: CAUTION, I BITE!!! DO NOT TOUCH! While the horse looked friendly enough, I believed the sign. As I looked at the sign, then the horse, then the sign, a thought struck me. What if everyone came with a sign that warned us of their tendencies? What would yours say? No, really-what would your sign say? What would you write on the sign for your boss, your spouse, your cubicle mate? Stories are everywhere. When I noticed the sign I knew I wanted to take a picture of it for some use in the future. I did not know it would become the intro for a story. There is so much that can be done with the story of this sign. That’s how stories are born. They are everywhere. The hard part is not to find the story. The challenging part is to connect the story to your audience and to the lesson you want the audience to get.
